BlackArrow Comes Out of Stealth

BlackArrowBlackArrow has been one of those cool companies in Stealth that everyone wants to know more about.

Today we got our wish, the company announced $12 million in new funding from a range of technology, broadcast and venture sources and opened up their website revealing a lot more of what they do.

Larry Kramer has joined their board and they have lured several others including Dean Denhart of KnightRidder to be CEO, and Chris Hock of Adobe to join them. BlackArrow plans to bring broadcast advertising from a linear medium into the digital age.

Schematic Redefining User Experience

While there is endless buzz surrounding new video formats and content delivery methods for digital media, user experience and the visual interface, a critical component of online video is rarely discussed in context.

At the IP Media Expo in New York last week I had the opportunity to sit down with executives from Schematic, the interactive agency responsible for the most innovative experiences on the web. Schematic designed the player for ABC and more recently the full episode portal for FOX.

BLUTube: YouTube for Cops

Law Enforcement training company PoliceOne has launched BLUTube, an online video portal targeted at police officers.

The site offers “a secure, interactive environment in which to view and upload an unlimited number of industry-focused videos.” But what happens when law enforcement starts posting copyright-infringing content?
